Over-Watering result in Fungus on the surface

Some of the precautions and care need to be taken while planting. Chili plants are among those who doesn't need much watering for their growth. The best practice is to let the soil dry and then one should water them.

Over-watering plants leave the water on the surface of the soil due to non-holding capacity further more thereto which develops fungus on the surface.

The dark part on the soil is fungus

How to find whether its fungus?
The soil turned in dark black color soil if seen carefully is not basically black, but it's dark green. The smell of the fungus also helps in identifying them. The lighter color contents in potting mix also turn green. These all are symptoms of fungus.

What can one do in this case?
You just need to change the soil and transplant them in a hygienic container to avoid any further chances of development of fungus. Transplanting plant is a tricky job. Hence, the same should be done with care

Water the plants as and when needed as per their nature and moistness. Excessive water can again result in fungus on them.
